Composting Toilets

 Models Summary

There are four models to choose from:

1. The Ecolet XL Automatic is usually kept in stock as this one is the most superior in performance and tends to suit the needs of most customers.
• As the name suggests the XL is fully automatic. It comprises 2 heating elements and automatic mixing mechanism, which does everything for you when the seat is lowered.
• This unit is suitable for 4 people full time or 6 people part time and has a 40% larger chamber than the other models.
• The XL has a ventilation fan and excess liquid sensor making it superior to all other composting toilets in the market.


2. Automatic Model is smaller in capacity to the XL.
• This model has an electric heater and fan to aid the composting process by evaporating excess liquid and regulating the temperature. The fan also supplies additional air flow to the compost mixture.
• This unit is suitable for 3 people full time or 4 people part time.
• Mixing of the compost is automatic meaning there is no risk that mixing is forgotten by visitors or children.


3. Manual is similar to the Automatic however the mixing is not automatic.
• There is a “T” handle at the top of the toilet which needs to be turned a couple of times after each use to mix and aerate the compost with the internal mixing arms.
• The manual is suitable for 2 people full time or 3 people part time.


4. Non Electric (NE) is ideal for remote locations where electricity is not available.
• The NE has 2 exchangeable composting bins, 1 under the seat and 1 in the rear for maturing the compost further before emptying.
• The NE comes with a larger vent pipe for better natural draft but has no heater or fan to aid in the evaporation of excess liquid.
• There is a drain tube provided to evacuate the liquids to a leaching in-ground grey water system or to an auxiliary storage container.
• A low wattage fan can be fitted as an option.
